Booking & Copyright Policy

Please read before booking. Paying your deposit or confirming a booking means you accept these terms.
1. Booking confirmation
A 70% deposit secures your date. 30% of the total fee is non-refundable; the remainder of the deposit is refundable or transferable as set out in clause 3. Your date is not held until the deposit clears.
2. Payment
The remaining balance is due on or before the shoot date. Events and nightlife shoots are paid in full upfront. Work does not begin until the balance is cleared. Studio hire, where used, is invoiced separately at cost and is not part of the photography fee.
3. Cancellation & rescheduling
7 or more days' notice: the 30% non-refundable portion is retained. Anything paid above that is refunded or credited to a rescheduled date within 6 months.
Less than 7 days' notice: the full 70% deposit is retained.
Rescheduling is subject to availability and may carry additional costs (studio, travel, third parties) where already committed.
If FOR Studios cannot fulfil the booking, you receive a full refund of everything paid, or a rescheduled date, whichever you prefer.
4. Late arrival & no-shows
Your session begins at the booked time. Time lost to late arrival comes out of your session and is not made up or refunded. Arriving more than 30 minutes late for shoots under 1 hour may mean the session is treated as a cancellation with less than 7 days' notice.
5. Outdoor shoots & weather
For outdoor sessions, if conditions make the shoot unsafe or unworkable, we will agree an indoor alternative or a new date at no extra charge. This decision is made jointly, no later than the morning of the shoot.
6. Cooling-off period
Where you book online as a consumer, you have a 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If your shoot falls within those 14 days, you agree that work may begin during the cooling-off period and that you may be charged for services already provided if you then cancel.
7. Copyright
Under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, FOR Studios is the first owner of copyright in all photographs and films produced, unless copyright is assigned in writing. Payment buys a licence to use the work, not ownership of it.
8. Your licence
On full payment you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the delivered images for the agreed purpose — personal use for portrait, birthday and boudoir work; the agreed commercial purpose for branding and commercial work. Unless agreed in writing, you may not:
claim authorship of the work;
sell, sub-licence or commercially distribute it;
crop, re-edit, apply filters or alter the colour of delivered images.
Colour and grading are part of the work's authorship. Please post the images as delivered.
9. Creative direction
Styling, composition, lighting, framing, colour grading and edit selection are made at the professional discretion of FOR Studios. Your brief, references and requests are welcomed and discussed before the shoot.
10. Portfolio & marketing use
For portrait, birthday, graduation, maternity, branding, event and commercial work, FOR Studios may use selected images and behind-the-scenes footage for portfolio, website, social media, advertising, exhibitions and competitions — unless you tell us otherwise in writing before the shoot. You may withdraw this at any time by email, and we will stop using the images going forward.
Boudoir is different. No boudoir image is used anywhere. The default is that nothing is shared.
11. Behind-the-scenes filming
BTS content is filmed on most shoots. Tell us before or during the shoot if you would prefer not to be filmed, and we will not film you.
12. Delivery & revisions
Delivery timelines given at booking are estimates. The package includes one round of reasonable revisions, requested within 7 calendar days of delivery. Requests after that, or outside the original scope, are charged at the standard hourly rate. Image selection is made by FOR Studios and/client; additional images beyond the package can be purchased.
13. Raw files
Raw and unedited files, project files and outtakes remain the property of FOR Studios and are not supplied as standard. They may be licensed separately by written agreement.
14. File retention
Delivered files are available for redownload for up to 12 months. After that, files are archived and may be retained as part of our professional archive. You can request deletion at any time — see our Privacy Policy.
15. Health, safety & location
You are responsible for the safety and access permissions of any location you choose. FOR Studios may decline to shoot in a location that is unsafe, and may end a session where anyone present behaves abusively or unsafely; in that case fees are not refunded.
16. Materials you supply
You confirm that any props, garments, music or artwork you bring are free of third-party rights, and you indemnify FOR Studios against claims arising from them.
17. Minors
Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian's written consent and must be accompanied throughout. Boudoir sessions are strictly 18+ and photo ID is required.
18. Limitation of liability
FOR Studios will work with reasonable skill and care. Where a shoot cannot be completed for reasons outside our reasonable control — illness, accident, equipment failure, venue restrictions, extreme weather, or other force majeure — liability is limited to the value of the services not delivered. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
19. Governing law
Governed by the laws of England and Wales.
20. Acceptance
Paying your deposit, signing a quotation, or confirming a booking means you have read, understood and accepted this policy. Variations are valid only in writing, agreed by both parties.
